Figtree

Suburban Leafy Suburb

A giant fig tree originally growing at this place gave rise to the name of the township. The fig tree was at a very important road junction, and thus became a well-known landmark. When travellers were being directed to or from Sydney in the early days, the best way of describing the route was to tell them to "turn off at the fig tree". The fig tree was cut down in 1996 due to disease and only a portion of the trunk remains.

At the junction of the highway and The Avenue is Figtree Grove, a two-storey indoor shopping centre. The shopping centre was opened in 1965. Our Brailey First National office has been located in the centre itself since 2014. We are proud to be part of the centre, community centre and all of its customers and joint tenants.
Adjacent to the centre is a park which contains sports facilities, a baby health centre and a small sculpture garden.

Figtree has a hotel, an oval, many speciality stores, a dog park and several quality schools and one of the largest high schools in the area, Figtree High School.
With over 10,000 residents living in Figtree, it is a great suburb for young families, downsizers and investors alike.
